WE ASKED for your beauty/makeup inquiries on our Instagram Stories< recently and received so many questions! So many that we couldn’t possibly get to all the DMs and thought we might answer a few of them here. From perfume recommendations to makeup tips for beginners to the best foundation for dry/sensitive skin, here are the things that you want to know…
Your lashes are stunning, could you share your routine / products, please?
Thank you! I brush a little castor oil on my lash line and eyebrows before bed every night. Not sure if it actually does anything, but I still do it anyway. As for products, I really like this mascara by Guerlain, as well as the Voluminous Mascara by L’Oréal if you want a good pharmacy brand.
What would you say is the best foundation for dry/sensitive skin please?
As I have oily/combination skin, perhaps I’m not the best person to ask this question, but I did do a bit of research for you, and what I’ve found is that the Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Foundation (known for high coverage that’s also lightweight) and the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (known for a silky formula with medium coverage that’s buildable and filled with light-reflecting particles and glycerin for all-day hydration) are both great options.
Tips for makeup beginners?
I think, perhaps, since you’re not used to a full face of makeup, that it would be best to start with a lightweight tinted serum, rather than a full-coverage foundation, which may be much too heavy. The two I’ve listed below are really good options, both for their formulations, and for the fact that they also include a sun block.
Best rose perfume suggestion
As scents are so personal, it’s difficult to give a good recommendation. I really like the new Rose Gardenia by Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (an amazing really old company) and Young Rose by Byredo is nice.

What are your favorite go to skin and makeup products?! Looking for luxury + clean ?
This is a huge question with many possible answers, but to keep it as simple, here are a few things that I really love: RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek, a mineral lip and cheek stain that creates the most beautiful, natural-looking, buildable glow; it’s made of organic ingredients that hydrate and protect while providing a sheer wash of colour. Agent Nateur holi(oil) Ageless Face Serum enhances skin’s natural elasticity and minimises wrinkles, hydrating and brightening your complexion; rosehip oil (a natural Retinol) helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Eve Lom Cleanser is one of my all-time favourite products⏤its silky texture melts into the skin and removes all traces of make up, pollution and daily dirt, but also exfoliates and tone; ingredients include Egyptian Chamomile and Cocoa Butter, Eucalyptus and Clove oils to fight against blemishes.
Any tips from your hair routine?
After letting my hair dry naturally, normally use hot rollers for big, bouncy, shiny curls, but for the past few months, now, I’ve stopped heat-styling my hair and just use a scrunchy to air-dried hair to give it some body and waves. As far as products, I love hair oils, and these are the two that are currently on my vanity.
What is your favourite eyeshadow & lip products?
Although I had really high hopes for the Huda Beauty and Charlotte Tilbury Palettes (shown) , my actual favourite is the Morphe 9D Painted Desert Artistry Palette, which seems to be sold out everywhere. It has high pigmentation and blends well, and I currently use it everyday. My very favourite lip balm (and I’ve tried them all!) is the By Terry Baume de Rose.
