IT IS UNDENIABLY chilly, and the fire is on at the cottage most days now. The leaves have turned a bright yellow and the shops are a confusing mix of pumpkins and Christmas crackers. How there can be only two and a half months left of the year is a mystery. It feels like a moment ago that I was writing my New Year’s Resolutions for 2019 and now we’re on the cusp of 2020. 2020! Right now, however, all I can think about is the fact that I seem to be coming down with the flu, and there is still so much work to do. On Friday I picked up the two new pairs of glasses that I ordered from the optometrist with my new prescription and have been exclaiming just how clear everything is ever since. P is telling me about how the video store we used to visit in another city in another life is closing, just as I wonder how I ever managed to walk around in a state of fuzziness all this time. It’s Monday and the beginning of everything.

This week’s links include cosy cable knits and tall leather boots for autumn days; the best Beauty Advent Calendars, a New York apartment, a Los Angelos poolhouse and much, much more.
