Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links

Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 11.06.19

IT’S FUNNY HOW one can see the humour in a debacle after it is over. On Monday, after a true comedy of errors, managed to lock us out of the cottage after having only been there for three days. Neither of us had our keys, wallets and phones, but at least had the keys to the rental car, which was dangerously low on petrol after the long run to Edinburgh and back. We had no idea what to do, but eventually decided it might best to see if the car would make it to the hotel we stayed at for nearly two weeks before the cottage was ready. Relieved to make it to the hotel, we arrive at reception to announce that we have no wallets, no keys and no phones. Would it be possible for us to spend the night and come back after we see if we can sort everything out first thing in the morning and oh, would we be able to order room service. Yes and yes was the answer. Funny how strange it was to be out in the world without either of us having any internet connection whatsoever, not to mention anyway of buying anything. I strangely missed all the lip balms in my handbag more than my phone. Happily, we’re back at our cosy cottage and can not wait to share the news of our next grand adventure (with hopefully no more misadventures such as this).

This week’s links include thoughts on happiness and the newest trend in facial oils; how to get more done in less time; pearls, lipgloss and much, much more.
