In the Atelier With: Carolina Elizabeth Studios, Oklahoma

In this instalment of In the Atelier With, we speak with artist and antique restorer Carolina Elizabeth, an Edmond, Oklahoma-based painter who creates modern traditional art with a romantic flair, including paintings in oil, watercolor gouache, and drawings. Click through the slides to hear Carolina’s inspiring story in her own words…

My name is Carolina Elizabeth and I am originally from Honduras. However, I have called Oklahoma home for most of my life. It is where I now live with my husband—who has been one of my biggest fans and toughest critic since high school—and my two very talented daughters.

I’ve always considered myself endowed by my parents (my father, an upholsterer and my mother, a seamstress and avid floral designer) with a desire to create things with my hands. No matter what it was that I wanted to make, they were prepared to provide me with materials and ready to cheer me on.
