Very often you would use similar wall colours in adjoining open-plan spaces but here you can see that Studio McGee have used the striking blue and white wallpaper in the dining room only. They have chosen to keep the pattern to one room, as it could be over-powering in both, but have connected the rooms visually by using the blue as an accent colour in the sitting room and using the same palette of soft coastal colours in both spaces. The flow between these two elegant spaces is, however, maintained beautifully by having the same polished wood flooring running throughout.
