A Cosy Ski Lodge

Décor Inspiration | A Cosy Ski Lodge

You’ve just come in from a day’s skiing and your ski lodge is the perfect hideaway in which to warm up and unwind after your strenuous day on the mountain. Flickering candlelight, a dark neutral palette enlivened with warm tones of amber and amethyst and lots of soft inviting textures are the ingredients of this magical and cosy interior.

This look is all about taking rustic elements with lots of texture such as wood, stone, linen and leather and layering them with luxurious touches such as sheepskin throws, velvet cushions and the softest woollen blankets.

The colour palette tends to be slightly darker when decorating in this style but there’s nothing to say you can’t add in layers of white and cream to lighten it up and reflect the sunlight on a clear day.

This is not an overly fussy look but it does require layering to provide the ultimate sense of cosiness. Decorative antlers and plaids are classic ingredients of this mountain décor, but do use them sparingly to avoid a themed look.

Now warm some milk for the most decadent hot chocolate imaginable, pull on your soft-as-butter cashmere bed socks and curl up in front of the stove or the fire to think back on this perfect day on the slopes . . . Louise
