THIS WEEKEND we tasted Lobster Paella for the very first time; there would also be a sushi picnic by the fountain in the summer sun, the salty sauce and spicy wasabi mingling with the toasted sesame and reminded us of the time in another city far away, where we used to order the best sushi at once or twice a week, the place whose manager looked a bit teary when we told him of our plans to move away. There would also be enormous amounts of nectarines and cherries all weekend long, and cold and sweet slices of watermelon that brought along with them that hopeful feeling that summer might last forever . . .
