THIS WEEK’S PLACES is the wildly chic and utterly charming English country house in West Sussex owned by interior designers Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen. The couple own and run Nicholas Haslam, which makes and sells furniture, fabrics, lighting and antiques, after Moschino and Haslam split in 1995. (Haslam took control of NH Design as the interior design side of the business, with Moschino taking ownership of the Nicholas Haslam shop. Both run as separate entities.) Meanwhile, back to the country house — it was said that Moschino and Vergeylen purchased the half-Tudor half nineteenth-century house and barn nearly on the spot. Just an hour outisde of London by train, offered the best of both worlds, and with its ceiling beams and antique rugs, fountains and tapestries and candelabras, you will fall wildly in love . . .
