Tap Coffee
This top-notch Fitzrovia hangout (previously called Tapped & Packed) remains a coffee-lover’s haven, whether you want espresso-based drinks (Simonelli machine), or brewed coffees made in a drip cone or the increasingly popular Aeropress. Beans are sourced from several roasters including Has Bean and Square Mile.
When we went, the Aeropress specialist was not around. We contented ourselves with a drip Nicaraguan, the drip unrushed and the beans excellent (single-origin, as were both the other filter choices). Sandwiches and baked goods are all made on the premises and reasonably priced.

TAP – No. 26 Rathbone Place
TAP, formerly Tapped and Packed, opened their first café here on Rathbone Place in 2009. They were soon at the forefront of a number of trends in London coffee with a greater focus on filter offerings and serving coffees from a wide range of roasters (‘free house’ style). TAP have continued their position ahead of the curve more recently both in terms of roasting in house (since April 2013) and in terms of developing a brand identity across a number of venues.
