At Home With: Madonna, Ashcombe House, Wiltshire, England

Interiors Redux | At Home With: Madonna, Ashcombe House, Wiltshire, England

FLIPPING THROUGH SOME OLD files last week, and came across one filled with old tears from magazines, including this one, above, of Madonna amongst strewn roses and fallen petals and chintz, and simply had to revisit the interior again. The home, of course, is the famous Ashcombe House in Wiltshire, England, which the singer shared with then-husband, filmmaker, Guy Ritchie. Ritchie would gain the house and a pub the couple owned in the divorce settlement in 2008, and Ashcombe House would forever be known as the former home of famed photographer, Cecil Beaton. It should be noted that Ritchie came into the marriage with much less financially than he made off, adding to his fortune by $50-$60 million in the settlement, (which included the value of the house and pub), making his total current fortune $100 million compared with Madonna’s current fortune of $800 million. These photos were shot by Tim Walker and published in Vogue in August 2005, ten years ago.
