The last few days I have been watching the beauty of fall from my cosy rustic cabin back in my home town. Being back in Paris now, my mind keeps drifting to the emerald lake we visited and the colourful forests I have seen during the time I’ve spent there. Here there is no crackling fire, but certainly these two places are a perfect choice for a cosy lunch or dinner with some incredible Parisian views between the working days ...

L’Oiseau Blanc at the Peninsula Hôtel is presided over by a replica of the White Bird (in homage to the plane in which Nungesser and Coli attempted to cross the Atlantic in 1927) and offers a 360 degrees view over Paris. Chef Christophe Raoux offers typical French cuisine, highlighting the best of French products hand-picked everyday.

Interior architects Gilles et Boissier transformed Café de l’Homme with marble tables, velvet sofas and Arabic-style latticework. The restaurant is managed by Christophe Bonnat and Coco Coupérie-Eiffel (the great-great-granddaughter of Mr. Gustave Eiffel himself) and serves classic French cuisine with an international influence.

  • Ahhh, last time we were in Paris, we rented an apt with the Eiffel as our view. We would walk over and just gaze up at it each night .. I am happy, looking back, that that was our last visit to Paris and it was indeed Perfect.

  • I don’t remember if I commented on this lol but last time we were in Paris, we rented an apt from ParisPerfect and it was a short walk from the Eiffel Tower . We would take that walk each evening before bed .. it was so magical .. I am lucky to have such good memories :)

  • Thank you for stopping in to say hello — it's lovely to hear from you!
