IT WAS an ice cream sandwiches in the afternoon sun and gin cocktails in the evening moonlight kind of weekend. The city is quiet and the nights have the kind of early evening breezes that tell you August is on its way. It’s a wistful time (the last month of summer always is), but also an exciting time, as this last month always feels the most like a holiday before the first small signs of autumn begin settling in. For the first time in a long time, I am not sad about summer’s end, for winters here have their own loveliness and are much milder than in other cities we’ve called home. And best of all, it will still be summer-like here until as least November…

Here at TIG, we’ve refreshed our dropdown menu so that it’s easier to find the topics that you’re interested in, such as Shopping and Business, and an easier way to find News Articles and Playlists. Most of the other categories are still there, such as DécorFashion and Travel, and we’ll continue to experiment with the navigation to see what works best.

This week’s links include tweed matching sets and the architecture of Miami, drop earrings and melon recipes and much, much more.
