After a long and rainy winter, the days are finally filled with sun and pastel-toned skies day after day. Henry Miller once wrote « When spring comes to Paris, the humblest mortal alive must feel that he dwells in paradise. »

And he’s not far from the truth. The soft and golden lighting c’est de retour, terraces are filled with people and so are the banks of the Seine. Picnics on the quai de Seine will forever be the favorite place to go of Parisians, but there are other perfect spots for late-night revelry, patio sipping, alfresco brunches and so on. Here are three of my favourite spots for spending springtime in Paris …

l’Hôtel Particulier de Montmartre

Pavillon D, 23 Avenue Junot,

75018 Paris, France

La maison de Campagne, in the middle of Paris, formerly the villa of the Hermès family, l’Hôtel Particulier de Montmartre, with its charming walled garden is a beautiful place to spend a relaxing day outside the busy-ness and the crowd of the city. The interior of the hotel features a beautiful whimsical décor with a blend of homelike, yet refined and peculiar designs: plush velvet seating in a lush secret garden with black-and-white tile floors and a glass-enclosed terrace.

The bar, designed by Pierre Lacroix, is open to everyone — not just hotel guests — and serves classic and signature drinks by their head bartender Francesco Giordanetto.

With a charming rustic decor of bare brick walls, wicker lighting, big wooden tables, velvet banquettes and a library full of books, the interior was designed by architect Laura Gonzales. This new restaurant on Île de Saint Germain is only a 30-minute drive from Paris.
