Dar Sinclair is the name of English model Jacquetta Wheeler’s villa in Tangier, Morocco. Built by her great-grandfather, the architect Jack Sinclair, in 1926, Wheeler inherited the home with her younger sister, Charlotte, when their mother passed away suddenly in 2016. Their mother had inherited the place herself, when she was 19, and was in the midst of extensive renovations when she died. Wheeler had no idea what their mother had been planning, but had to take on the work their mother began, for there were teams of workers who now didn’t know what to do. With a little help from her mother’s longtime friends, as well as London-based interior designer Diana de la Rue and designer Gavin Houghton (who chose the wonderful vibrant pink), Wheeler was able to create the most chic space that is eclectic, worldly, and filled with bohemian romance.
