THE FIRST TIME WE CAME across the New York townhouse of interior designer Miles Redd might have been in a print issue of domino magazine, perhaps in 2009-10. His pink living room (we believe it reads much more pink than depicted here) and extravagantly mirrored powder room were the stuff of décor legend, and so upon discovering that Ballard Designs recently featured his iconic home, we were terribly delighted!

The would-be art dealer who studied at New York City’s Parsons School of Design purchase the home with his sister in 1998, with the notion that Redd would live on the top two floors and his sister on the bottom two floors. When they purchased the townhouse, it was in terrible shape and took 24 months to renovate. One of the designer's signature is to add contemporary works of art to traditional interiors, and traditional works or art to contemporary interiors, which can be seen to great affect in this installment of At Home With.

Here, in all its eclectic bohemian glory is the famed Manhattan townhouse, resplendent in all of the signatures that have defined his illustrious career so far ...
