Décor Inspiration: Refined Beach Style in Sydney, Australia

This week’s décor inspiration is the latest renovation project from a trio of stylish Australian women whose business is called ‘Three Birds Renovations’and with a name as refreshingly witty as that, you may also guess by now that these savvy renovators are bringing a fresh take on developing tired properties.

You can see a host of detailed photographs and jaw-dropping before and after images of the projects on their website and they also bring each renovation to life with video episodes which tell even more of the story.

Each project is different but you can expect wonderfully bright open plan spaces where family life can be lived oh so stylishly. You can also expect great lighting; blush pink velvet and weathered wood; a delectable colour palette with lots of ice cream tones; styling details to love and to borrow; the best outdoor spaces which allow life to spill out into the open air; and signature large kitchen windows which open up fully to allow those sitting outside to enjoy the space from a stool perched on the other side.

Australia may enjoy a warmer climate than some of us experience, but there is certainly no shortage of design details here which you can borrowwherever you liveto bring this elegant and refined take on beach style into your home . . . Louise

Louise Keane grew up beside the sea in Dublin, inspiring a life-long love of the coast. She studied French and History of Art & Architecture in Trinity College in Dublin before moving to London to work first in publishing and then in Marketing & PR. After a move to Edinburgh, she decided to heed a creative urge which had been tugging at her sleeve for a number of years, and she retrained as an interior designer. While studying interior design, Louise discovered a love of pen and ink with watercolour illustration, which she now does alongside her interior design work. Louise runs her interior design company, Amalfi White Living, which offers her clients a fresh, elegant style, mixing vintage and modern pieces for a luxurious yet relaxed look. She dreams of renovating a white house by the sea.
