Cloud Nothings – Modern Act

Cloud Nothings announced their new record Life Without Sound will be released on January 27th. “Generally, it seems like my work has been about finding my place in the world,” lead singer Dylan Baldi said. “But there was a point in which I realized that you can be missing something important in your life, a part you didn’t realize you were missing until it’s there – hence the title. This record is like my version of new age music. It’s supposed to be inspiring.”

LEISURE – Know You Better

New Zealand collective LEISURE let us know back in July that they had begun mixing their debut album and released their single “Control Myself” to mark their return from a short hiatus. The mixing is now complete and their self-titled debut will release worldwide on October 21.

LEISURE is back with one more track before tomorrow’s release. “Know You Better” is the perfect way to begin transitioning into the fall and all of the feels that the change in weather brings. It won’t be long before you catch yourself singing along to the catchy chorus and thinking about the special someone that you want to get more familiar with now that the summer is over.

Computer Magic – Dimensions

Danielle Johnson, known by her moniker Computer Love, is a music producer hailing from the Catskills. After discovering her talent for creating music as a young adult, she took an extended break from college and decided to pursue making music full-time. She also has a rep on the New York City night club scene as a DJ going by the name of Danz. She has enjoyed a great amount of success releasing several EP’s and albums. Now, she has dropped her single “Dimensions,” which is featured on her latest EP Obscure But Visible.

“Dimensions” is a dreamy synth-pop tune with many layers of sounds and emotions. “The song ‘Dimensions’ was inspired by my recent time spent in upstate New York—the intense skies at night, the infinite green fields,” Johnson recalls. “When you’re lying on the grass in the middle of nowhere looking up at the stars, you realize how small your place is in the universe, and in turn your current problems tend to fade away if only for a moment. I suppose the lyrics are about this, the feeling I experience looking up at the stars.” Computer Love is fresh off a tour with Neon Indian and is excited about what the future has in store. Expect her new EP to drop in October.

Terror Jr – Little White Bars

It’s now been seven months since pop trio Terror Jr hit the scene, making a major entrance by soundtracking Kylie Jenner’s “Glosses” video. The debut had many, us included, theorizing that Jenner was the vocalist, but it was never confirmed. In that time, I’ve come no closer to knowing who the veiled lead singer, who goes by Lisa, may be—but I’m fairly certain it is not Kylie Jenner. Truthfully, I have no real desire to know because ultimately the music is good. I dare say amazing, and Jenner’s involvement would only distract from that. Today, they release their debut EP, Bop City, which includes four previously unreleased tracks, with a promise of performing those songs live soon. With a little more patience, we’ll know once and for all who is hiding behind the pink hair.
