ON SUNDAY, we awoke early (for a change) to visit the famous flea market that is usually held at the grand fountain on the other side of the city, having seen a woman carrying a chandelier home the previous weekend and assuming that she had been to the very same. Upon arrival, however, it was discovered that we must have had the wrong weekend, for there was no flea market, only early-morning tourists posing by the fountain, so we went for pancakes instead, with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
