ON FRIDAY NIGHT we spontaneously picked up a new firebowl from the hardware shop for late-summer city campfires in the garden, and had a fire that very night, talking the hours away by firelight. The very next day, promptly picked up handmade Vanilla Bean & Salted Caramel Swirl marshmallows for the fires yet to be had . . . There were also oysters and sparkling rosé, [for there were things to celebrate], a little work and late brunches and Sunday markets and more work, and all in all, it was exactly as summer weekends should be . . .
