. . . came across some truly beautiful artwork by French artist Laurence Amélie, painted in an impressionist fashion, leaving free access to imagination, little brushstroke accidents and improvisations which go where one’s conscience doesn’t expect it to, but the subconscious delights. In the artist’s words, “each canvas, receiving layers of colors and washes, ends up almost acquiring its soul.” Whilst the paintings’ visual delicacy delights the eye, their well thought out colour scheme makes them an incredible asset to an office or living room, perfectly combining with minimalist black & white interiors, and maximalist ones in beautiful gilded frames.

Victoria lives in the south of Spain, having moved there from her native country Ukraine when she was just a child. She finds herself looking up to timeless icons from past decades including Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Katherine Deneuve and Audrey Hepburn, and longing for sunny afternoons on the French Riviera and walks along the Seine during spring. Always overdressed and dishing out on tailored pieces and shoes – secretly dreaming they were from Dior or Saint Laurent – she dresses for herself rather than others, and would trade breakfast for Vogue or a one way ticket to anywhere beautiful.
